Parking for paddlers
The car park at Newbridge is limited in size and the Dartmoor National Park have reserved the first row of car parking spaces for members of the public who are not paddlers. Please do not park in these spaces as it annoys the Rangers and public and we do not wish to lose this car parking facility!
There is only space for a maximum of 3 cars at Holne Bridge before traffic is disrupted and therefore this should only be used as a pick up point during the week. The egress will be closed at weekends.
The River Dart Country Park, via the main entrance, is available for paddlers to park at weekends through the winter season. There is a pay and display car parking charge for the day and residents will be issued with a dated, non-transferable car pass to enable them to drive in and out of the park to run shuttles to/from Newbridge/Dartmeet/Buckfastleigh. Paddlers wishing to "drop off" will not be exempt.
Day visitors who have paid the car parking charge will be able to use, at weekends, the communal boot room area for changing and the communal showers.
The Old Sawmill cafe bar will be open at weekends offering hot drinks, snacks, food and beer and a Carvery on Sunday - adults £7.95 & children £4.95 (under 8 years) Please no wet clothing inside!
A winter season ticket is available at a cost of £20.00. This includes free parking until 13th March 2012.
Paddlers not wishing to use the facilities at the Park will need to egress at Buckfastleigh at weekends.
We would like to encourage paddlers to use our facilities and stay on site - there is a special weekend promotion to help you. Please see accommodation page for details.
